Grape Varieties: Field blend
In this context, Tareco is meant to describe an 'old thing of little consideration'... but in a good way! What is meant by this, is that the wines are produced with a very traditional method, in talhas, with little winery manipulation. This wine produced is uncomplicated and easy to drink, and unmistakeably from a talha.
The Tareco cuvees get barely 3 months in amphora before being decanted on dia de são martinho - St. Martin's Day, 11th Nov - the traditional day for celebrating the bounty of the harvest crop, where the new amphora wines are first enjoyed in communal gatherings and feasts.
The Tinto is such a drinkable wine! light, pure berry and cherry fruit with a little lift of whole-bunch sweetness and stalkiness. Juicy and fleshy on the palate, great acidity and a touch of grip from light tannin, finished with a slight sour cherry kick.
