Susana Esteban

Susana hails from Galicia and gained her reputation as a winemaker in the Douro. This sparked a passion for Portugal’s viticultural diversity.

However, she found her vocation in amongst the many plots of old vines nestled in the São Mamede hills which lead her to new heights of craft and winemaking. Now relocated to her small winery in Alegrete, she makes small quantities of highly expressive wines from ancient vineyards.

A story of courage, determination, and belief that special wines could be made in this unique corner of Portugal, Susana is recognised by her peers as a true pioneer.
