Grape Varieties: Antao Vaz, Perrum, Roupeiro, and others
The Mestre Daniel cuvees are named after the orginator of this tiny bodega, who's legacy is being continued by Ricardo and the group of friends.
These wines come from older vineyards - some ungrafted, protected by very sandy soils. They spend longer in talhas, around 6 months, giving more earthy, resinous, and herby character.
Mestra Daniel Branco is a very perfumed and aromatic white. The prolonged skin contact creates a rich, honeysuckle, floral nose, with intense clementine citrus oil. There's fleshy quince and dried apricot alongside a dry grass, hay minerality. The palate is textured and grippy, but lighter-bodied than one might expect. The acidity is great and creates a fresh, clean palate. Huge flavour complexity, and a very long finish.
