Usually, Quinta do Vale Meão use many grape varieties, grown on 3 different soil types, and create fabulous blends for their main wines. The Monte Meão wines flip this on it's head and showcase individual varieties, grown on one specific soil type, from one specific vineyard plot. These wines are only released when the Vale Meão team deem them to be very special.

The Touriga Nacional comes from the Vinha dos Novos, on granite soils. The winemaking follows Vale Meão's usual high standards, with foot-treading in granite lagares and ageing in used barriques for 15 months.
