El Hato y el Garabato
The little-known Juan Garcia, made in a traditional way, with stems, foot treading, and a little oak.
EHG-SIN-TT2018-BUK
Grape Varieties: Juan Garcia
The Sin Blanca gets it's name from the fact that the white grapes are harvested from the field blend vineyards first, leaving only the red grapes remaining.
85 to 90 % Juan Garcia, this blend is usually 'topped-up' with a little Bruñal, and tiny amounts of others such as Rufete, Tempranillo and Bastardo, also within the field blend. The wine is naturally fermented in concrete tanks, with a little whole bunch and stems. Foot-treading is employed for a gentle but thorough extraction, and then the wine is aged in French barriques for 9 months.
A rich, but fresh red, with purity and honesty. Fruity enough on its own, but a great pairing for grilled lamb or game.
