Planted mostly in 1966, Quinta do Côa is an extraordinary vineyard in the heart of the Lower Côa Valley Archaeological Park. In this remote part of the Douro Superior, in sub-Saharan conditions, Touriga Nacional flourishes to provide the backbone for the Quinta's outstanding wines.
There are 14 hectares of vineyards (8 hectares of those old vines, plus 6 hectares of pure Touriga Nacional, planted between 1995 and 2006) as well as outstanding olives (21 hectares, Madural and Negrinha) and almonds (21 hectares, Casanova and Verdeal). And amongst all this, and beyond, are the world's largest outdoor excavations of Palaeolithic rock art. Registered organic producer.
